Over the course of the next few months, DU will be hosting several visit day events on campus for admitted students and their families. These preview day visits offer students and families a chance to come to campus and get an inside look at DU and what it means to be a Pioneer.
Yesterday we kicked things off with our first Pioneer Day event of the season! Over 300 newly admitted students and their guests (660 + people total) attended from more than 40 states around the country.
It was an early morning, but we started things off right by providing a delicious breakfast spread and plenty of coffee to get people excited about the day ahead!
Breakfast and coffee to start the day
What began as a brisk morning quickly turned into a beautiful Colorado day. We are pretty happy that our visitors got to experience one of Denver’s 300 days of sunshine!

After check-in and breakfast, guests gathered to hear a presentation from our admission staff. They got to learn all about the University of Denver and what we have to offer.

Later on students and parents were split into two groups. While parents talked with a panel of university leaders to get their questions answered, students got to interact with a panel of current DU students to hear more about what it’s like being a student here.

After our student and parent panels, groups came back together to take a tour of our beautiful campus (led by our awesome tour guides). Guests had the chance to tour our residence halls and see what student living looks like here at DU, and after they were invited to eat lunch in one of our dining halls.
Once everyone was sufficiently fed, we wrapped up the day with an Academic and Student Life Fair in the Cable Center. Faculty and staff from all different departments and programs came to talk with students and their families about their respective areas. We had an amazing turn out with lots of great questions and conversation.

And what better way to wrap up the day than with a giant bowl of ice cream at our ice cream social, where visitors were able to mingle with current students and staff and re-cap an awesome day.
