For many students, the beginning of August marks the time for back-to-school shopping. My family spent much of the weekend getting the final items for our soon to be 3rd grader. Many schools in the Denver metro area will begin class the week of August 13th.
My family took a photo break during our weekend of school supplies shopping.
However, our DU students still have a full month of summer left before their first day of class! With many summer days ahead, the city of Denver has many exciting ways to pass the time before the fall quarter begins. I am a Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies fan! There is still time for our students to visit Coors Field or Mile High Stadium, like admission counselor Christy Statema.
You don’t even have to leave campus to see high-level athletics. The Pioneers have women’s and men’s soccer games and women’s volleyball games throughout August.
The Pioneers are ready to pursue their championship aspirations.
Red Rocks is a world-famous outdoor concert venue.
Food fans can try unlimited tacos from over 40 taquerias at Tacolandia. After you eat an unhealthy amount of glorious tacos, you may want to burn off those calories with an ofo bike; Maura Koch can tell you plenty of places near campus to see. Summer always goes too fast, but the Pioneers don’t have to start their back-to-school shopping just yet!
Enjoy the rest of the summer, Pios!
