It’s hard to believe that in one week it will be August! While the summer months are typically quiet around here, we still keep ourselves busy here in the Office of Admission pre-planning for next year. Many of you are probably doing the same thing, using these free months to work, volunteer, and get involved in a variety of activities to add to your college resume. I also hope that you are using this time to visit colleges and start to think about the application process. Before you know it, school will be back in session and you will be in the midst of classes and extracurricular activities, all the while, working on your college essays and applications. Wow, even just thinking about that is a little overwhelming!
Now, while I hope you take this last month of summer to get a jump on the application, take the next couple of weeks to have some fun and just enjoy summer! That’s what we are doing! Earlier this month, a bunch of us admission counselors and even our boss, Todd Rinehart (the Director of Admission), went to a concert to see Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire. Next month, we’re going to go see the Rockies (hopefully) dominate the Pittsburgh Pirates. We’re trying to get in as many fun events together before the fall starts because once you get busy, so do we.
So with that, have a safe and wonderful last couple weeks of freedom and we will see you in the fall!
Nashwa Bolling, Associate Director of Admission
