Well, this marks my last blog post as a student here at the University of Denver. Tomorrow, I will be graduating with my Masters Degree in Business Administration and Undergraduate Degree in Business through DU’s dual degree program. These past five years have flown by and I am truly glad that I decided upon the University of Denver as my school of choice.
There have been so many wonderful and fulfilling experiences and have grown tremendously as a person so much through my time here. For those of you that have been reading my blog, I hope that you have learned and gotten some great information about what you can get at the University of Denver. It has been a blast having the opportunity to share all of this information with you.
So lastly, it begs the question, so what next? Well, for me, I am not taking the traditional route and taking a ‘typical’ job that many other business majors may do one they have their degree in hand. In fact, I am pursuing a passion that I have had for many years now - giving back to my community by getting involved in politics. I will be heading back home to Maui, Hawaii and for the next six months, will be helping to get Maui Mayor Charmaine Tavares reelected and current Hawaii State Board of Education Member, Mary Cochran elected to the Maui County Council. I will be playing a role in their overall communications and will be running the Team Tavares Blog for the Mayor's Reelection campaign.
I know that my DU degree will take me far no matter whatever endeavor that I may decide to pursue. This University has given me a strong set of tools to tackle the large world around us.
Good luck to all of you who are amid the college search or will be attend DU in the future. From my experience, you won’t be disappointed… The University of Denver is a great place to grow, learn and thrive.
If you have any questions about DU that I can answer for you, e-mail me at thashimo@du.edu and I will answer your questions for you and you may even be featured on our blog to help other students as well who may have the same questions, so ask away!
